Maintenance windows
Schedule planned downtime so alerts don't fire and status page visitors know it's expected.
Planned maintenance shouldn't trigger a downtime alert or spook status page visitors. Schedule a maintenance window and DownCTL handles both automatically.
Scheduling a window
- Open a site's Maintenance tab and click Schedule maintenance.
- Set a start and end time.
- Choose whether to notify status page subscribers when it starts and when it completes.
What happens automatically
- At the scheduled start time, the window flips to in-progress. If you chose to notify on start, subscribers are emailed immediately.
- At the scheduled end time, the window is marked completed, a fresh uptime and SSL check run immediately so the site's status reflects reality right away, and a completion notification goes out if you chose one.
- Subscribers can also get an advance notice — one day before the window starts, and again 15 minutes before, if notifications are enabled.
